Working Overtime to Cover Klamath Falls

A History Rooted in Klamath

Midland Empire Insurance has been a fixture in the Klamath Falls community for more than 75 years. Clem and Sylvia Lesueur acquired the agency in 1958, and it still remains in the family.

Today, their son Lance and his wife Bernice co-own the agency, providing five types of insurance to local residents and businesses. “We offer a full line of insurance products,” Lance says. “From auto insurance to farm insurance, we’ve got you covered.”

A Commitment to Customer Service

Over the last 75 years, business has grown significantly for Midland Empire. With eight employees in Klamath Falls and five in Grants Pass, the agency has grown 12 times its original size. “We have very educated employees, and most have been with us for at least 10 years,” says Lance. “We love our community.”

Midland Empire goes above and beyond for its customers. “We always work with our customers to find the right plan that best suits their needs,” Lance says. “Even if that means we take a little extra time and do a little more work.” Lance credits this to the fact that Klamath Falls is such a giving community, so it’s the least he can do.

A Change in Technology

When it comes to day-to-day business, Midland Empire Insurance pays attention to the details. From giving advice to filing an insurance claim, it’s all about the customer. Technology has become a big factor in the work at Midland Empire. “It’s helped us serve our customers much faster and more efficiently,” Lance reflects.

For close to 10 years the agency has relied on Cal-Ore’s phone and Internet services for email and electronic file-keeping. “I’ve been happy with our Internet and phone service,” Lance says. “We’ve developed strong relationships with the staff at Cal-Ore, and whenever there’s a network issue it’s handled right away.” Midland Empire Insurance relies on Cal-Ore’s Cloud Voice and Fiber Internet to connect all services into one data delivery mechanism. Today, Cal-Ore Fiber connects the Midland offices in Klamath Falls and Grants Pass so that business can run smoothly.

In an industry that’s constantly evolving and adapting to new technology, Lance and his team have remained grounded. “The beauty of Midland Empire is that you can still call in and talk to a real person for advice and service,” Lance pledges.
